Bionomics
Larvae have been collected from the axils of bananas, Pandanus, and bamboo stumps and internodes.  Adults rest on the trunks of trees and vegetation  in jungle valleys located in mountainous areas.

Medical Importance
No species of Ayurakitia are known to be involved in the transmission of pathogens.

1. Acrostichal setae on median longitudinal area of scutum present,
2. Eyes touching above antenna,
3. Antenna distinctly shorter than proboscis,
4. Postspiracular setae absent,
5. Prespiracular setae absent,
6. Lower mesepimeral setae present,
7. Pulvilli absent,
8. Postprocoxal scales present.

Recommended character:
9. Base of hindcoxa distinctly ventral to base of mesomeron.
