Bionomics
Ground water habitats with some emergent vegetation and partial to heavy shade such as jungle pools, swamp forest, sedge swamps, also overgrown drains, rice fields and river swamps. Adults will bite during the day in shady locations and will enter houses to bite at night ( Harrison and Scanlon 1975).

Medical Importance
Vector of Brugia malayi in peninsular Malaysia. Minor malaria vector in Borneo ( Harrison and Scanlon 1975).
