- Arboviruses have been isolated from Jb. ulopus in Trinidad
and Colombia, hence species of Johnbelkinia are considered to
be potential vectors of pathogens of human diseases. Species of this
genus are known to carry the eggs of the human bot fly, Dermatobia
hominis.
