- 1. Antennae greatly swollen, strongly curved, and longer than the head, with strongly developed setae which give them a "hairy" appearance
- 2. Lateral thoracic setae (9-10-P,M,T) remarkably long
- 3. Comb (C) consists of a single row of scales on a small sclerotized comb plate (CP)
- 4. Pecten (Pt) absent
- 5. Siphon (S) uniformly pubescent
- 6. Siphon bears a pair of large hook-like setae (seta 9-S)
