Bionomics

Immatures found in all sortd of ground water habitsts including lakes, ponds, and canals. Immatures also found in gutters, ditches and pools of clear water. (Horsfall 1955).

Medical Importance

Reported as an important vector of human malaria by Mullen & Durden (2002).
